Finally: It’s Diablo III

Yes! This is happening. Thanks to Sp4rkR4t from the Forums for pointing me in the right direction. After many years, we finally get some screens and video footage of what is probably the most highly anticipated RPG of all time. Blizzard announced this new title at their World Wide Invitational in Paris. There is little info about the game so far apart from the game footage and screens, but below is an informative article. Be sure to leave a comment if you know anything we don’t ;)

Before you continue reading, there are two videos you should watch. The Gameplay video page on which the article below can be found and the Cinematic trailer video. Enjoy.

Okay, that looks like fun. The exploding worm dude is nasty.

”Diablo III is first and foremost a co-operative game,” that’s the message from Blizzard. They’re not expecting you to play this on your own, so we’re looking at plenty of online options for slashing our way through those dungeons. The campaign is said to be of a similar length to that of Diablo II, with NPCs and story events taking place within the game world. The campaign will apparently feature a mixture of both randomly generated and hand-made static dungeons.

Diablo III is going to be delivered in a brand new, “real-physics” 3D engine developed by Blizzard. The game is so far confirmed for PC and Mac, and Blizzard have “no plans” at present to become console developers. It’s going to be supported by the revised version of Battlenet, which will go live with Starcraft II later this year.

PvP features are “planned” but there’s no information on them so far, and the same goes for trading items.

Barbarian and Witchdoctor classes have been seen so far, so that’s fighter and summoner-wizard-shaman-type fantasy archetypes covered.

The release date is “when it’s done”, but it’s traditional for announcement-to-release to be just under a year for Blizzard games, so we’re looking at having it in time for Christmas 2009. The title has already been in development for four years, so that’s looking like a fairly realistic guess.

End Of Bill Gates Regime in Microsoft

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates was set Friday for his last day of full-time work at Microsoft - the company he founded 33 years ago on a hunch that personal computers would become an integral part of everyday life. The world’s largest software company said that it was not planning any public events to observe the transition, though the change would be marked by internal events. Gates, 52, will continue to hold the title of non-executive chairman and work about one day a week at Microsoft. He intends to devote the rest of his time to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the wealthiest charity in the world, which is aimed at improving healthcare around the world and reducing extreme poverty. Founded with the vast fortune he made as Microsoft prospered, the foundation has an endowment of some 38.7 billion dollars with billions more expected to roll in as Gates transfers his massive personal wealth. Legendary investor Warren Buffet, currently the world’s richest man, has also pledged to transfer the vast majority of his wealth to the foundation.

Gates handed over his role as Microsoft chief executive to his long-time partner Steve Ballmer in 2000, when Gates became the company’s chief software architect. Under a carefully planned succession programme, Gate’s duties will be taken over by two top Microsoft executives. Ray Ozzie will be in charge of day-to-day management issues, while Craig Mundie will be in charge of long-term planning. The company, whose Windows operating system powers some 90 per cent of the world’s personal computers, has a market capitalization of about 260 billion dollars and employs more than 78,000 people in 103 countries. But even as its cash cow products of Windows and the Office productivity suite look set to continue their stellar earnings, Microsoft faces tough competition as Google’s online dominance threatens to cut into Microsoft’s core businesses.

Starbucks Dibenarkan Beroperasi Di IPTA

Zulkifli Mohd. Ghazali.- Utusan.

Internet in Korea: 100 Mbit standard

The majority of South Koreans rate their broadband services as ‘ordinary’ despite having the world’s fastest internet connections, according to a recent survey. Korean broadband providers typically offer speeds of 100Mbps. However, the government-sponsored Korean Communications Commission (KCC) found that no service provider consistently provides this level of service. The fastest ‘100Mbps’ service was delivered by LG Powercomm with an average speed of 91Mbps, the KCC found. The average speed of all 100Mbps service providers is just 46Mbps, but this compares to typical average broadband speeds of well below 10Mbps in most other countries.

Seven service providers offer high-speed broadband services in Korea to more than 15 million subscribers. Korea Telecom controls 44.2 per cent of the market, followed by Hanarotelecom with 24 per cent and LG Powercomm with 12.2 per cent. “By giving quality information to internet users, we expect customers to have more information when they choose products,” said KCC representative Lee Eun-hee, according to the Joongang Daily. “This encourages service providers to compete against one another to improve the overall quality of such products.” Kim Young-wan of Korea Telecom added: “The rate at which high-speed internet customers are increasing has slowed down a lot. “That is why internet service providers are looking for new revenue sources such as internet telephony and IPTV services.”

iNStall Vista in 2 minutes...believe it or not

iNStall Vista in 2 minutes...believe it or not

(pronounced /ˈvɪstə/) is a line of operating systems developed by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs, media center PC's, and Microsoft Surface table computers. Prior to its announcement on July 22, 2005, Windows Vista was known by its codename "Longhorn".Development was completed on November 8, 2006; over the following three months it was released in stages to computer hardware and software manufacturers, business customers, and retail channels. On January 30, 2007, it was released worldwide, and was made available for purchase and download from Microsoft's website. The release of Windows Vista comes more than five years after the introduction of its predecessor, Windows XP, the longest time span between successive releases of Microsoft Windows.

Windows Vista contains many changes and new features, including an updated graphical user interface and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network, using peer-to-peer technology to simplify sharing files and digital media.NET Framework, which aims to make it significantly easier for software developers to write applications than with the traditional Windows API. between computers and devices. Windows Vista includes version 3.0 of the

Microsoft's primary stated objective with Windows Vista, however, has been to improve the state of security in the Windows operating system. One common criticism of Windows XP and its predecessors has been their commonly exploited security vulnerabilities and overall susceptibility to malware, viruses and buffer overflows. In light of this, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates announced in early 2002 a company-wide "Trustworthy Computing initiative" which aims to incorporate security work into every aspect of software development at the company. Microsoft stated that it prioritized improving the security of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 above finishing Windows Vista, thus delaying its completion.

While these new features and security improvements have garnered positive reviews, Vista has also been the target of much criticism and negative press. Criticism of Windows Vista has targeted high system requirements, its more restrictive licensing terms, the inclusion of a number of new digital rights management technologies aimed at restricting the copying of protected digital media, lack of compatibility with certain pre-Vista hardware and software, and the number of authorization prompts for User Account Control. As a result of these and other issues, Vista has seen adoption and satisfaction rates lower than Windows XP.

WINDOWS VISTA AERO VS LINUX UBUNTU BERYL

Ubuntu (IPA: [uːˈbuːntuː] in English,[3][ùbúntú] in Zulu) is an operating system for desktops, laptops, and servers. It has consistently been rated among the most popular of the many Linux distributions. Ubuntu's goals include providing an up-to-date yet stable Linux distribution for the average user and having a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. It is a derivative of Debian, another popular distribution. Ubuntu is sponsored by Canonical Ltd, owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. The name of the distribution comes from the African concept of ubuntu which may be rendered roughly as "humanity toward others", "we are people because of other people", or "I am who I am because of who we all are", though other meanings have been suggested. This Linux distribution is named as such to bring the spirit of the philosophy to the software world. Ubuntu is free software and can be shared by any number of users.

Kubuntu and Xubuntu are official subprojects of the Ubuntu project, aiming to bring the KDEXfce desktop environments, respectively, to the Ubuntu core (by default Ubuntu uses GNOME for its desktop environment). Edubuntu is an official subproject designed for school environments, and should be equally suitable for children to use at home.Gobuntu is an official subproject that is aimed at adhering strictly to the Free Software Foundation's Four Freedoms.[10] The newest official subproject is JeOS. Ubuntu JeOS (pronounced "Juice") is a concept for what an operating system should look like in the context of a virtual appliance.[11] and

Ubuntu releases new versions every six months, and supports those releases for 18 months with daily security fixes and patches to critical bugs. LTS (Long Term Support) releases, which occur every two years, are supported for 3 years for desktops and 5 years for servers.[The most recent version, Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron), was released on 24 April 2008. The next version will be 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex), scheduled for release in October 2008.

Do It Yourself- Installing Memory Modules

The motherboard's DIMM slots have been color coded for easy dual-channel configuration. However, do note that motherboard manufacturers have different color coding schemes. Some boards have DIMM colors assigned to each memory channel while others color coded the DIMMs in dual channel memory pairs. Gigabyte chose the latter color coding scheme. As such, you should install your pair of identical memory modules in the same colored DIMM to enable the higher speed dual-channel memory configuration.

Unique only to the Gigabyte GA-8GPNXP Duo motherboard, you'll find support for both types of memory, DDR400 and DDR2-533. You can choose to install either one of the memory type, but you CANNOT mix both memory types. In this guide, we'll show you how to install the newer DDR2-533 memory. Since there are only two DIMM slots for DDR2, the process is pretty straightforward. However, before you proceed, always check the manual to see the different types of memory configuration schemes you can use. Or, you can follow the guidelines below :-

Memory Installation for Dual-Channel Operation

DDR1 (orange) DDR2 (purple) DDR3 (orange) DDR4 (purple) DDRII_1 (yellow) DDRII_2 (yellow)
2 Memory Modules DS/SS X DS/SS X X X
X DS/SS X DS/SS X X
X X X X DS/SS DS/SS
4 Memory Modules DS/SS DS/SS DS/SS DS/SS X X
DS = Double-sided module ; SS = Single-sided module ; X = Not installed

To further ensure that you have the best memory compatibility and stability, follow these rules :-

  • Your memory pairs should have similar capacity, speed, brand and model. Ideally, purchase them together so that they contain the same batch of chips.

  • Purchase dual-channel memory kits for that added stability.

  • Ensure that the number of chips (or number of sides) on your pair of memory modules are the same.

  • Ideally, if you want to add another pair of modules, try to install identical modules (brand, speed and number of sides) as your previous pair. For this motherboard, this rule applies only to DDR400.

  • The Gigabyte GA-8GPNXP Duo comes with six DIMM slots,

  • two pairs for DDR400 and another

  • pair for DDR2-533 memory.

  • Note the different locations of the notches for DDR

  • and DDR2 modules. The yellow DIMM slots are

  • for DDR2 memory, quite obviously.

  • In this DIY guide, we recommend using Kingston's DDR2-533

  • ValueRAM modules (KVR533D2N4/512).

  • Similar to installing most memory modules, hold on to the memory module with both your hands and insert it perpendicularly into the slot as shown.

  • Always ensure that the notch on the module is aligned to the slot as shown. The notch ensures that the memory module can only be inserted in one direction. It will also prevent you from installing the DDR2 module into any of the DDR slots.

  • Once inserted, press the module down

  • until the clips on both sides are locked vertically as shown.

KOTA KINABALU, May 31 (Bernama) -- Prof Datuk Dr Kamarulzaman Ampong regarded his appointment as Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Vice Chancellor, which was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, as an honour for the Sabah people.

"I'm grateful to God for the appointment as the UMS VC, which is actually a responsibility to bring the university to greater heights. It is not an easy task, but I will do my best," he told reporters at a function attended by the prime minister, Barisan Nasional leaders and government employees in Sabah here today.

Prof Kamarulzaman, 55, did his master's degree at the University of York on a Sabah Foundation scholarship and a few years after that, did his doctorate in biochemistry at the Ohio State University in the United States.

He is the first Sabahan to be conferred a full professor by a local university.
